Trigger Point and Myofascial Release Therapy

These are kinds of massage for pain relief. It is simple; we all feel better when we get a massage, and someone with pain will feel better too. But does this massage cure the real problem? The answer is no, but it does provide temporary respite.

We will make it clear with an example
A patient suffers with calf muscle pain, and the pain stems from their lower back, which has remained undiagnosed. Physiotherapists could apply trigger point and myofascial release therapy to the calf. In this scenario, the patient will feel temporary relief in the calf muscle, but the problem remains in the lower back. As such, the calf muscle pain will eventually reoccur. This patient needs hands-on treatment in their lower back instead.
