Very often we see our patients come in mentioning some scary and complex medical terms related to their condition. These words are embedded in their minds! Words like slipped disc, disc prolapse, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, frozen shoulder, capsulitis, heel spur, tennis elbow… and the list goes on.
We say these words are scary because most of the time the diagnosis a patient has received elsewhere is not correct and this incorrect diagnosis has begun to create significant distress. We also say they are scary because even if a previous diagnosis is correct, there are generally good treatments available and relief or even a cure is achievable.
